THE PROPOSAL

What is being proposed?

The proposed works comprise the installation of new ground-mounted uplight (floodlighting) units to illuminate the external walls of the Hall. This will require buried cable runs to supply the new lighting. Cable trenches will typically be located 2m from the standing structure (reducing to c.1.5m to the north-east) to provide a buffer to the historic fabric and to suit the lighting design. Trenches have been designed to be as small as practicable, subject to the number of cables required at each location. The maximum trench depth will be 0.45m and the maximum trench width will be 0.23m. The lighting has been designed in response to advice from the consultant ecologist
