A LITTLE LESS CLUTTER. A LOT MORE POSSIBILITY.

Everything for a
good local exchange.

From the first photo to the final handover, keep the details together in Place Keys.

Show it properly

Add up to eight photos, a description, condition and asking price. Preview your listing before you submit it.

Keep the conversation together

Message interested buyers privately through your account. Optional email alerts help you keep up with replies.

Keep your address private

Show your town or neighbourhood publicly. Share the collection details privately when you agree a sale.

Give it away, too

Choose For sale, Free or Wanted. Useful things deserve another home, even when you don’t want a payment.

Make the handover clear

Agree collection in your account. Use a QR code or short code, then both confirm the item has changed hands.

Build your local reputation

After a confirmed collection, buyer and seller can review each other. Manage listings, messages and saved finds in one place.

FROM YOUR HOME TO THEIR HOME

One good photo
is a good start.

  1. 01

    Pick it. Photograph it.

Start with the chair you don’t use, the bike they’ve outgrown or the clothes waiting for another outing. Show the actual item, including any marks.

  2. 02

    List it. Let people know.

Add a price, a few honest details and your collection area. Preview and submit for checks. Once approved, your listing can appear in relevant area guides.

  3. 03

    Agree it. Hand it over.

Message the buyer, agree the details and arrange collection. Confirm the handover together, then leave each other a review.

Selling your home, moving into a new one or making the place you have feel different? List the things that won’t make the move.

The proceeds could go towards a moving van, something for the new place or a little of the next mortgage payment.

THE USEFUL DETAILS

A few things
before you list.

Buying & selling safely
Is it free to list on Place Keys?

Yes. Creating a marketplace listing is free. You set the asking price and agree payment directly with the buyer. Place Keys does not take payments or provide buyer or seller guarantees.

What can I sell?

Useful, lawful physical items you own: furniture, clothes, electronics, bikes, toys, garden items and pet accessories. Use your own photos and describe the condition honestly. Check the listing rules for excluded items.

Can I give something away or post a wanted request?

Yes. Choose Free if the item costs nothing, or Wanted if you are looking for something. Choose For sale and enter a real asking price when you want to sell.

Will my home address be public?

Your listing shows your town or neighbourhood and approximate distances. Keep exact addresses and contact details out of the listing; agree collection details privately in your messages.

When will my listing appear?

Save and preview your listing, then submit it for checks. Listings and photos are checked before publication; some need a person to review them. Approved items can appear in relevant local area guides. A listing does not guarantee a buyer or a sale.

How do collection and payment work?

Agree the buyer, price and collection details in your messages. When you meet, the buyer can scan the seller’s QR code or enter a short code, and both people confirm the handover separately. Payment is arranged directly between you; collection confirmation does not verify payment.

How do marketplace reviews work?

After both people confirm collection, buyer and seller can review each other. Reviews stay hidden until both submit or the 14-day review window ends, and appear after checks. Your profile keeps separate buyer and seller ratings.
