Reduce lateral and sub lateral growth, up to approx. 1m to balance and promote conical shaping. 1 x Quince (T2) - Reduce crown by up to approx. 1.2m. Thin crown density evenly throughout by approx. 20%. 1 x Evergreen Oak (Holm Oak) (T3) - Reduce over long branches back into the main crown structure, (up to 1.4m approx.). Reduce remaining crown by up to approx. 1.2m to shape. Thin crown density throughout by approx. 20%. Remove epicormic stems which grow over the planting bed and rose. 1 x Holly (T4) - Trim to tidy (up to 0.7m) and shape. 1 x Californian Lilac: (T5) - Tip prune and reduce over extended branches by up to 0.8m back into the main crown structure to shape. 1 x Laburnum (T6) - Tip prune to reduce by up to 1m. Thin outer crown density by 10% - 25%.
FRONT GARDEN: 1 x Laurel (T2) - Reduce lateral crown spread overhanging No.7 (up to approx. 1.5m). Reduce sub lateral growth of upper crown on No.7 side approx. 1m.
FRONT GARDEN: 1 x Viburnum (T1) - Section fell to ground level.
Front Garden Tree 1 – Ash (Fraxinus spp.) Pollard the Ash tree located on the right-hand side of the front boundary - to be pollarded back to the previous pollard points (approximately 1 metre at maximum). Remove all major deadwood. This is to maintain good tree health and management. Back Garden Tree 2 – Holm Oak (Quercus ilex) Fell the Holm Oak to ground level due to extensive damage caused by the tree's root system to the adjacent brick boundary wall. Photographic evidence of the damage is included within the attachment. The extent of the structural damage indicates that retaining the tree is not a reasonable option, as the roots are continuing to compromise the integrity of the boundary wall. Drill and treat the stump with an approved herbicide to prevent regrowth and encourage decomposition. Tree 3 – Apple (Malus spp.) Reduce the crown by approximately 1 metre and carry out a 50% crown thinning. Remove all major deadwood. Prune and reshape the crown to improve the tree's form and ongoing management. This is to maintain good tree health and management
REAR GARDEN: 1 x Plum (T1) - Reduction by up to 1.5m. Remove any defective branch wood. 1 x Box Elder (Acer) (T2) - Overall reduction by up to 2.5ms; thin by 20% and remove any defective branch wood.
Front garden: fig (T1) - fell. Reason: An initial assessment (not a full arboricultual survey) indicates the tree is the likely cause of cracking in the pavement. The roots will continue to expand and so cracking will likely continue to worsen. Pruning will not significantly reduce damage over the medium term. The cracking can be seen extending towards the building. The tree is located around 2m from the building. British Geology Survey maps show the property sited on Claygate member clay which is not as shrinkable as London clay but is still considered to have medium to high shrinkability. This could be confirmed through lab soil tests. Considering the period of the building, the foundations are likely to be shallow strip foundations. This could be confirmed through exploratory digging.

Works to tree protected by a TPO. T2 Dead stem / probable historic Oak remnant – Fell remaining monolith to ground level. The remaining standing stem appears to represent a retained remnant of a former oak specimen and is now substantially dead with limited ongoing amenity contribution. Removal is proposed to improve safe and practical use of the garden space and prevent ongoing obstruction within the area. (Works to T1 Beech will be considered separately under Section 211 Notice ref. HGY/2026/1513, as this tree is not protected by a TPO but is located within a Conservation Area)
