T1 Elder - this tree has been completely overwhelmed by ivy, the weight of which, combined with the extended hot and dry summer, has meant at least a couple of limbs have failed in the canopy. In order to preserve the tree and ensure its longevity, we will remove all the ivy down to fence height and prune the canopy back to a strong structural framework. T1 Magnolia Grandiflora - a beautiful and much-loved specimen growing near to the rear of the property. T1 Robinia pseudoacacia - The tree continues to lean more and more through the boundary line of a private resident's garden. The large lower limb which grows towards the East is covering most of the private garden of no.9 and is exposed to any strong southerly winds which have brought down a number of limbs from mature trees in the immediate vicinity over the past few weeks. We feel it is prudent to reduce this limb by 5m from 7m to 2m back to a strong vertical growth point in order to reduce the sail effect. Furthermore we aim to reduce the height of the tree by 3m from 9m to 6m back to previous reduction points in order to achieve a more compact form and, again, limit the sail effect of this heavily leaning tree.
T1 Malus - the tree has outgrown the small garden it sits in. An overall reduction of the canopy by 2m in both radial spread and height from 5m to 3m and a thinning of the canopy by removing selective stems and any dead, diseased or crossing stems would prevent the tree from becoming too overbearing for the family.
