Tree T1. Located in the communal rear garden of Helena Close, as marked on the sketch plan Plan 01 attached. Proposed works: Remove major deadwood throughout the crown. Reduce end weight on overextended lateral limbs by up to 10 metres, cutting back to suitable growth points. Crown thin by no more than 20 to 25 per cent to reduce wind loading. All works to be carried out in accordance with BS 3998:2010. Understood, and that is a legitimate and important point to make, since a garden in regular use by children is exactly the kind of target area that strengthens a safety case. Here is the reasons paragraph rewritten to put that front and centre, while keeping it credible rather than alarmist, which is what carries weight with a tree officer. Replace the reasons section with this: Reasons for the works: The tree carries significant deadwood and excess end weight on several overextended lateral limbs. These limbs extend directly over a communal garden that is in daily use by residents and children, who play in the space beneath the canopy. There is a real concern that a deadwood or overloaded limb could fail and fall into an area occupied by young children. The proposed works are intended to reduce this risk of limb failure and to maintain the health and structural integrity of the tree, while retaining its amenity value. No reduction in height is proposed and no felling is involved, so replacement planting is not applicable.
T1 Common Ash - 18m high and 16m wide, this tree is becoming to large for site, we would like an holistic reduction of 3 metres ( back to previous pruning points) leaving 15m high and 13m wide. T2 Oak - 16m high and 9m wide, this tree is becoming to large for site and encroaching the building, we would like an holistic reduction of 2m (back to previous pruning points) leaving 13m high and 12m wide.

5 DAY NOTICE FOR: Five Leland trees are situated alongside a narrow lane to the cut-de-sac. The trees have significantly outgrown their location and are causing damage to the lane surface and adjoining boundary fence. They have also impacted underground utilities and drainage systems, and are showing signs of canker disease. In the past, several limbs have failed creating an ongoing safety concern. The proposed works are to remove the trees in full and replace them with smaller, more suitable and manageable tree species appropriate of the location A major limb has broke out and has a high target area overhanging a narrow lane which is access to multiple houses Start crown size 8m x 4m Finish 0m x 0m
T13 ??? 1 x Scots Pine Pinus sylvestris.- to fell. Height - 14.5 m DBH ??? 635 mm Spread: North ??? 2 meters West ??? 7 meter South ??? 7 meters East- 2 meters The tree is located in the grass area to the right of the access path leading to the main entrance. The psychology is good with a good amount of foliage throughout the tree. The tree shows historical phototropic growth with leaning towards the property on the west and south with all branch growth in this direction. This would indicate growing with completion with large trees to the north. Evidence of street trees which has been removed and a newly planted Lime in its place and an existing street tree, Oak Quercus which has been lopped and topped at 8 meters. There are wounds on the main stem; Wound 1 on the south side at 0.5 meter Wound 2 on the west side at 1 meter Wound 3 on the South west side. Elongated with server resin bleeding. With reactionary growth on either side. Wound 4 ??? A large open wound (Due to historical poor branch removal) located at 5 meters. The wound has a width of 400mm and a height of 580mm. The diameter of the wound 540mm with a depth of the cavity at the same point 400mm. Wound 5- elongated open wound to the south side at 6.2 meters. Width of wound is 170mm and height of 800mm. There is reactionary wood around the wound. Both visual and actual evidence of animal activity. Whilst carrying out the inspection 3 squirrels vacated from the lowest hole on wound 4 and from the hole in wound 5 indicating that the whole section is hollow. Wound 6- There are 5 branches historically removed with good reactive growth. Due to the tree being hollow with loss of live, active wood on the compression side, where the conifers would support themselves. There is a large amount of growth, weight on the same side causing leaning. This is a high target area with high foot fall with a risks of injury to persons as well as damage to the property, therefore we recommend the felling of the tree, stump remova
