Tree worksAwaiting decision

Anchor Stone Watcombe Heights Road Torquay TQ1 4SG

T1, T2 and T3 Ash: Fell to near-ground level without stump grinding, as this would risk damaging the roots of neighbouring trees within the G1. The trees show symptoms consistent with Ash Dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus), including crown thinning, deadwood, and progressive structural decline. Several stems are heavily entangled with neighbouring trees, causing ongoing bark damage and creating points of infection and decay. The interlocking crowns prevent normal movement, increase mechanical stress, and raise the likelihood of partial or whole-tree failure within falling distance of the property boundary and adjacent structures. Given the combination of ADB infection, mechanical stress from entanglement, and progressive bark damage, removal is the proportionate measure to manage foreseeable risk in accordance with NTSG principles. Replacement planting is proposed as follows: Two native, small-to-medium trees will be planted within the garden boundary ? Field Maple (Acer campestre) and Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia) ? each supplied in 10?12?L containers at a height of 1.5?1.75?m. Trees will be positioned to avoid conflict with buildings and the retained woodland canopy, staked and guarded, and maintained for a minimum of three years to ensure establishment.

1 Happaway Road Torquay TQ2 8ED

Leyland cypress T1 - Single stem. Located directly against and partially within the fabric of an old stone boundary wall on the south side of the property. Description of works: Fell the tree to as near ground level as practicable. Remove arisings from site. Stump to be left in situ initially to avoid destabilising the wall; further removal only once wall stability is assessed. Reasons for works: The tree has grown in direct contact with, and is now structurally integrated into, the boundary wall. Progressive radial expansion of the stem and buttress roots is causing displacement of masonry, loss of mortar, and localised distortion of the wall. If retained, continued growth will exacerbate structural damage and increase the likelihood of partial wall failure. The tree?s position immediately adjacent to the building restricts safe long-term management and prevents proportionate pruning options. Due to species characteristics (fast growth, large ultimate size, high sail area), cyclical pruning would not resolve the underlying structural conflict with the wall. Felling is therefore required to prevent further damage to the wall and to maintain the safety of the adjacent property and public access.

Cary Castle Cary Castle Drive Torquay TQ1 4QZ

The following tree works are proposed in accordance with the recommendations contained within the Arboricultural Survey & Tree Risk Report prepared by Topp Tree Care Ltd dated 19 May 2026. The proposed works are intended to proactively manage mature Lime trees situated adjacent to residential dwellings, access roads, parking areas and pedestrian routes, in order to reduce excessive end-weight loading, mitigate foreseeable branch failure risk, and establish a sustainable cyclical management regime whilst retaining the significant amenity value of the tree population in accordance with BS3998:2010 Tree Work Recommendations. T0033, T0031, T0029, T0027, T0025, T0023, T0021, T0019, T0017, T0015, T0013 & T0011 European Lime (Tilia x europaea): Undertake selective and sympathetic crown reductions of approximately 2.0?3.0 metres throughout the outer canopy, with particular emphasis on reducing elongated lateral growth and excessive end-weight over adjacent dwellings, gardens, parking areas and access routes. Works to be carried out by reduction back to suitable secondary growth points whilst retaining a natural and balanced crown form appropriate to the species. T0007 ? European Lime (Tilia x europaea): Undertake a light crown reduction and selective end-weight reduction of approximately 1.5?2.0 metres to elongated lateral limbs and upper co-dominant scaffold structure to reduce mechanical loading and wind sail. Remove ivy from the lower stem and primary unions and undertake routine monitoring of the co-dominant union structure. T0005 & T0003 ? European Lime (Tilia x europaea): Undertake light crown reduction and selective end-weight reduction of approximately 10?15% throughout the outer canopy to reduce loading on historic scaffold unions and constrained basal structures adjacent to the retaining wall. Remove minor deadwood and ivy growth from the lower stem and buttress areas to facilitate future inspection and ongoing management. Group G001 ? European Lime Group: Remov
