T1 – Lime (Tilia sp.) Re-pollard to the established historic pollard points. Remove all current regrowth extending beyond the existing pollard framework, cutting back to the previous pollard heads/suitable established pruning points. Works/removal: Remove the current cyclical regrowth back to the established pollard points. Finished height: approximately 6.0 m. Finished crown spread: approximately 3.0 m overall. Do not cut unnecessarily into the established pollard heads. Retain the existing pollarded framework. T2 – Silver Birch (Betula pendula) Carry out a light crown reduction and reshape. Works/removal: Shorten the upper crown by approximately 1.5 m and shorten overextended lateral branches by up to approximately 1.0 m, pruning back to suitable secondary growth points. Finished height: approximately 10.0 m. Finished crown spread: approximately 4.0 m overall. Retain a balanced, natural crown form. No topping or indiscriminate heading cuts. T3 – Silver Birch (Betula pendula) Carry out a light crown reduction and reshape. T4 – Cordyline (Cordyline australis) Remove the lowest hanging fronds together with all dead, dying and damaged fronds. Works/removal: Remove lower/dead fronds back cleanly to their point of attachment to the stem. No reduction to the main stems or overall height. Finished height: approximately 7.0 m. Finished crown spread: approximately 3.0 m overall. Retain the healthy upper crowns. T5 – Fig (Ficus carica) Crown reduce and reshape, concentrating on growth extending towards the dwelling and adjoining boundaries. Works/removal: Shorten overextended lateral growth by up to approximately 1.0–1.5 m, pruning back to suitable secondary growth points. Shorten the upper crown where required by up to approximately 0.5 m to produce a balanced crown. Finished height: approximately 4.5 m. Finished crown spread: approximately 3.5 m overall. Retain the main structural framework and encourage a more upright, balanced crown. General specification: All pruning shall be undertaken in accordance with BS3998:2010 – Recommendations for Tree Work. All cuts shall be made back to suitable growth points, retaining branch collars where applicable. No flush cutting, topping or unnecessary removal of healthy crown material.
