For reasons of safety before autumn storms, the crown now needs to be reduced by removal of the lateral branches to a residual limb length of c. 1 metre above main unions, creating a branched monolith (of about 4-5m height) . This is a wildlife-friendly alternative to complete removal. The trunk already has ivy growth, and the tree will continue to provide potential harbourage for wood-boring insects, other invertebrates, birds and smal mammals. Arborists have indicated that the standing dead tree should remain stable for several years as a monolith. Stability will be checked annually. The lopped branches will be cut into manageable pieces to make a habitat pile in a designated area of the churchyard. N.B. There is no Tree Preservation Order in force for this tree or any other tree in the chuchyard.Awaiting decision4 Sep 2026Land at Joinery Display Systems Park Road Faringdon SN7 7BPThe proposed upgrade of an existing telecommunications base station comprising the removal of the existing 17.5m pole, to be replaced by a proposed 20m monopole supporting 9 no proposed antennas, together with the replacement of 1 no existing ground-based cabinet with 1 no proposed cabinet, internal upgrades to the existing meter cabinet and ancillary development.Prior Approval Not Required19 Aug 202623 Market Place Faringdon SN7 7HUChange of use of existing building from Use Class E to mixed Used Class E and C3 (Residential)Awaiting decision
