Your home.
Your next chapter.
Claim your home on Place Keys to hear from people who have registered an interest. You decide what happens next.
What does claiming your home mean?
Claiming connects a property to your Place Keys account after an ownership review. Once approved, you can be emailed the details of people who have actively expressed an interest and agreed to share them with an approved owner.
You can hear about interest without advertising the property for sale. Whether you respond, consider a conversation or do nothing is up to you.
Place Keys product guide · Updated 7 October 2026How to claim your home.
- 01 / FIND YOUR HOME
Choose the exact property.
Search by postcode and open your home’s property page. Check the address, sign in and look for “Is this your property?”.
- 02 / TELL US HOW TO VERIFY
Submit a claim.
Choose “Start an ownership claim” and describe the evidence you can provide, such as a title register, mortgage statement or council tax bill. Do not include account numbers or sensitive documents in the note.
- 03 / WAIT FOR REVIEW
We review it first.
The claim stays pending while it is reviewed. We’ll contact you if documents are needed; only send them when asked through a secure route. You’ll receive an email when the review changes your claim’s status.
What happens after approval?
We can notify you of existing active interests where the person has agreed to share their details, and of new consenting interests submitted later. The email includes their name, email address and any message they supplied.
If you would like to continue the conversation, use the contact details in that email. Approval does not automatically arrange a viewing, agree a price or start a sale.
Who can see what?
An interested person’s details are shared only after approval and with their recorded consent. Your claim is held privately; submitting it does not publish your evidence note as a comment on the home.
Someone expressing interest does not receive your private contact details through that action. If you choose to reply, consider what you share in the conversation.
View your claim under “Properties you’ve claimed” in My Place Keys.
Before you claim.
Can I claim a home I would like to buy?
An ownership claim is for a home you own. If you would like to buy someone else’s home, express an interest instead.
How long does the review take?
Claims require review and are not approved automatically. There is no guaranteed turnaround. Check the claim’s status in My Place Keys and look out for an email if more information is needed.
Does approval let me change the sold-price record?
No. An ownership claim does not edit the public sale history. If you think a property record is wrong, use Help & contact and explain which record needs checking.
Do I have to be thinking of selling?
No. Claiming lets you hear about consenting interest if there is any. It does not advertise your home, require a reply or commit you to selling.
What if I have a question about my claim or data?
